Believe It Or Not:

Kylie has had an awful cough, can't sleep, waking her up when she does sleep. In the middle of the night I remembered this odd cure.

Rub Vicks VapoRub on the bottoms of your feet to stop coughing. We were desperate, so we tried it. It Worked! We have done it for several nights in a row, and it has worked! Amazing.

We do put socks on after the rubbing so the sheets are not gross.

For Girls Only

This afternoon, I took a break and went to a movie! It was a delightful escape. I saw "Baby Mama".

I really enjoyed it, I laughed out loud. I would guess that only the female portion of the readers here would really enjoy it.

Lars and the Real Girl

I got the video because I had heard of the movie, I thought it had potential to be good, I needed some entertainment to look forward to that night.

I was pleasently surprised, although it was not what I thought it would be at first.

It is NOT a funny comedy.

It IS a sweet, slow paced, "wait for it", feel good movie. If all towns were as caring, helpful and willing as this town the world would be a happier place.

The acting was fabulous, they were all so committed to their parts.

It is rated PG-13. I usually abhor those movies, they seem to cross a very dirty line, but this movie did not. I am not sure why it was rated PG-13, it seemed more like PG.

I recommend this movie, watch it, then let's talk about it!!

How To Make a 9 Hour Trip Turn Into 12 Hours

It took us less than 9 hours to go from home to Provo! Astonishing! We stopped once in St. George for gas and food and potty.

We made up for all that good time on the way home. It took us 12 hours. We made 15 stops - we had a good time, though. Everyone was happy....doesn't that count for anything??

STOPS:
1. Provo - Barnes and Noble to find Quinn a book. Zak declined the offer to get him the next book in his series.
2. Provo - return Christopher's jacket to him. One hug from Christopher, (he also took a bagel) and one hug from Steven. That was nice.
3. Provo - Reams - buy more bagels and cream cheese.
4. Provo - Seagull Books - Zak decided he really DID want that book and while there, I went potty.
5. Provo - Barnes and Noble - still trying to find Zak's book.
6. Provo - Arctic Circle - "Oh look, there's Artic Circle, can we all get shakes?"
7. Payson - search for a Jiffy Lube. My lights kept blinking, I thought it was a sign, a blessed miracle before my car broke down. We had called Christopher and miraculously his computer told him there was a Jiffy Lube right there in Payson. That happened to be our next exit! Miracle! It sounded like an easy address, Payson is NOT that big. We spent 20 minutes looking for that blessed place - only to find out HOURS later that Christopher's computer thought Payson, UT was close to Payson, AZ! I finally pulled over to the side of the road, grabbed a napkin and checked my oil myself!! It was fine! The light sensor was apparently off. Thanks a lot. Whatever, we moved on.
8. Potty for me again.
9. St. George - Barnes and Noble, still looking for Zak's book.
10. St. George - Chevron - gas and everyone went potty.
11. St. George - Deseret Books - still looking.....The nice lady there called another book store in town, they had one more copy! She gave us great instructions.
12. Little Scholar Book Store - actual bought Zak's book!
13. St. George - McDonald's - more shakes, a little food.

Not a stop, but just after we pass through Arizona, we heard about Chase's mission call.

14. Stateline - I really had to go potty....again
15. Somewhere in California - I HAD to go potty again!
16. Around 11:30pm, HOME!

Lipton Potatoes...Yum Yum Yum!

Here is the recipe for the most delicious potatoes served at Tatia's Sunday Dinner Cafe (only open once every 2 months). The last time we had the BYU boys to dinner, they scarfed down 5lbs. - YES, that is correct, 5 lbs - of these potatoes. Of course they had a little help from the rest of the crowd. OK. I can see that no one will be able to read the recipe...

1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix

4 medium potes, cut into large chunks (about 2 lbs.)

1/3 cup olive or vegetable oil.

Preheat oven to 450*. In 13x9 pan, combine all ingredients.

Bake uncovered, stirring occasionally, 40 minutes or until potes are tender and golden brown.

Did You Hear The News??

CHASE got his mission call!!

He is going to the Houston, Texas; Spanish speaking mission.

He reports to the MTC on July 9th - which happens to be Kerry and my 27th anniversary.

He is very excited.

Thanksgiving Point

Cole's Coming

Me, Griffin, Kylie, Quinn and Zak are coming up to Utah THIS Saturday. It is Chase's 19th birthday, and Kylie feels a bit ripped off in visiting her cousins - so here we come.

We hope that all you cousins will be able to visit. We are staying at Nana and Bumpa's.

Confessions

well, I got my grades in today, they wern't exactly up to snuff. my overall GPA was a 2.0. I got a B in PE (my fastest mile was 10:47, I needed to be under a 9 mins for an A). I got a D in english, I'm just no good at writing essays 8-(. And the rest of my classes were C's. I guess I should have done homework in some of my classes....
