You asked for Pictures!!
Bumpa was in the kitchen making us a waffle with his homemade syrup. We enjoyed it. Then we hurried out on the front porch to take more pictures of new school clothes.
Sophie wanted a pic of her new flip flops! Tomorrow I'll get some pictures of Christopher on his shiney new motorcycle! Have a good day, everyone. I love you all!

A Little Political
Ok, by accident, I happened upon Hillary Clinton's speech at the DNC. It was running over time, right into Wipeout, (an ABC TV show), which Kylie and I like to watch.
Her speech was fine, then she started talking about John McCain and what he believes in. She was NOT telling the truth and she knew it. That made me mad. Whatever you need to do to whip the crowd up into a frenzy I guess is ok by her standards, not mine.
Let's have some honesty! That's what I am for!
New Pic's of Tim and Hope
I don't think I have seen Tim more bouyant and happy! Hope is lovely - I don't know her really well and I may never get to. She is very private but seems very sweet. (I remember when people would call me sweet and I finally started telling them, 'I'm not sweet, damn it!!) It will be fun to get to know Hope. She is a very beautiful girl. Happy life to you both!!
Happy Birthday, Tanner!
Happy Birthday to you,

Congratulations to Tim and Hope!!
Congratulations to Tim and Hope!! So, we are going to have a wedding in November!! We are thrilled. Our first grandchild to get married!! Actually not. Bethany was married but now that is all over - and we didn't get to see it. I hope we will get to see Tim and Hope get married and we can throw a reception for them?? We are thrilled for you both and hope you will be happy for many years to come and always. You are both wonderful kids.
Happy Birthday to Quinn!!
Happy Birthday Quinn!! Quinn is 13. He was born on a Thursday! Thursday's child will go far in life. So, Quinn, you were blessed to be born on a Thursday. It was 9;30 at night when you showed your little self into the world. You have been a joyful boy for ever-so-long. You get better every year and more handsome. But even more important than that you have shown yourself to have integrity. That is a very important quality to have and you will be blessed because of it. The Lord told Hyrum Smith that He loved him because of the integrity of his heart. We love you Quinn, and hope you had a wonderful birthday.

Pull-ups Contest
Yesterday the Cole boys had a pull-ups competition. The competition was two-fold. The first fold was to see who could do the most at once. I won, 16 pull-ups. The second fold was to see who could do the most pull-ups from that time (12:30 PM) until midnight. I started off ahead, but then Zak broke out in front by doing about 3o while I was in the pool. We were tied at 80 each around 9:00 PM, and then I had a slight lead (105-100) at 11:15, just 45 minutes to go. We started a movie at 11:30 and Zak valiantly went to do a pull-up or two every 2 minutes, but in the very end I managed to win with 139 pull-ups to Zak's 135. Both of us fell off the pull-up bar, unable to do any more. The movie we watched was Star Wars II. Only I actually managed to stay awake for it. We'll watch II I tonight and then the new animated Star Wars movie tomorrow.(Griffin is VERY excited for this).

Gas Saver
I cannot remember the last time I stayed home for an entire week, never leaving the house, not even going outside! (If I knew how, I would put a cast on one of that guy's legs.)
What a great surprise to see the blog this morning with all the posts, now this is what I have been talking about! I feel fully informed. Thanks, this really does take a village.
Tim the Adventurer and Hope...springs eternal?
If you look really close at the picture, you can see Tim the Tourguide in his little hat as he gives the presentation!
I am NOT bragging
Nana asked me to post my weight loss progress.
Weight loss has become the issue up here in Utah. Dad (Bumpa) is doing Weight Watchers, Mom (Nana) is doing something less formal. I am doing something called The Fat Flush Plan--very restrictive but working well for me. Here is my progress so far:
My blood pressure is down to normal levels, my glucose levels are down to normal, and my clothes fit better. I will soon have to go shopping! Who wants to come with?

Garage Sale
To see or not to see...that is the question
OK. Just to prove that we Paynes watch more movies than just Apocolypto and Fargo...what are your current recommends? Here are mine:
Mummy III - STUPIDO. (Somehow that word is a little less offensive in Spanish). Bad acting. Maria Bello as Evelyn was the worst. I can't believe they let her continue the part after watching the dailies. I love the first two and I still think Brendan Fraser is adorable.
Mamma Mia - I took Sophie with me. There were some stupid moments, but there were also moments that really made me laugh and I needed a good laugh that day. A lot of it was over the top, but I think it was supposed to be that way. Saw this play on Broadway. It drove me crazy. Had to roll my eyes at the moral (read "im") message.
Get Smart - I have an emotional attachment to this TV series. Laughed hard and loud at the movie. I can't help it. Steve Carrell cracks me up. He played Maxwell Smart to a T.
Hancock - Took all my kids. Jaw-dropping bad language from Will Smith. Lectured the kids afterward. Very different hero movie. Some great suspense at the end. After a day or so of thinking about it I ended up liking it a lot and appreciating the different take on a superhero.
Dark Knight - This was another one I had to think about afterward. I was uncomfortable with the fact of Heath Ledger's death and this dark role he played, but he did play this role superbly. I didn't expect it. He hasn't been that great of an actor. And I think the movie stayed true to the comic book character of Batman. I LOVED the motorcycle!
I refuse to see Stepbrothers, and I heard Wall-E was stupid.

Things YOU Could Blog About and Take Pictures of:

The Glass is Half Full
Good things/blessing that happened during the broken leg incident:
- I had just really shaved my legs the day before....the whole leg, not just up to my knee
- I did not have to go potty until just before surgery. I was told that I would have a catheter during surgery, I didn't have one, still I didn't/wouldn't get up to go potty until 4:00 the next morning. Quite unlike me.
- As Christopher and Steven were walking/jostling me to the car, my foot slammed back into place.
- I wasn't even hungry all day. I could have lost a pound or two!
- Christopher and Steven were home to get me to the hospital fast. In fact Christopher ran a red light for me.
- I have reason to lay on the couch all day.
- Just before I walked out the door, I wrote down all the children's names who were to come to the party. Quinn and Kylie were to make the "goodie" bags for me. Zak used that list to call and cancel the party.
- Griffin told me "someone brought us dinner, so you don't have to make it!"
I would trade all this if I could just take those 15 seconds back.
In my drug filled mind I am not clever enough to come up with a funny yet intriguing title
I do have pictures HERE, if you are interested. They are not that good. They look too nice and normal, you get no rage and horror from them. Just imagine it. And morphine is not that good, at all.
