question? any good? whats it about? i'm trying to find new books to read.
jessica, I am sure your mother knows all about this book...it is from the twilight series, ring a bell? It is what I call a vampire romance novel. I liked them all. Just suspend belief.

SPOILERS AHEAD...BEWARE CANDICE!Oh, yes. Haley, Allysa and I have all finished it. I haven't mentioned it because it will take time and thought. Hmmm...I am supposed to be doing dishes right now so I guess now is as good a time as any! Don has also listened to the first three books on tape. As a matter of fact, the whole family listened to New Moon and Eclipse driving to and from Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. No one watched any movies or read any other books. They all got into the story. I really got a kick out of that.
As for Breaking Dawn...
1. I really like the way she tied ALL the loose ends together. Everyone had a happy ending. It all made sense. I was quite pleased that after Bella became a vampire, Edward's skin was no longer like marble, but was soft and warm. I was interested in the way everything became more sharp, more clear, all of her senses and all of her abilities. I wondered if that is how we will feel after OUR bodies are changed to their eternal state of being.
2. Also, I noticed that Bella always underestimated her own abilities, there was never anything "special" about her, just like many of us do in our own lives. But the truth was that she did have gifts. She just needed to learn to use them and those gifts were vitally important to her family.
3. Another thing I noticed was that she never felt strong or clever enough, especially when all the powers of darkness were trying to destroy her all she could do was to "survive", to "endure" to the end. I think that is also a common theme in our own lives. Her perception of herself was never the way others percieved her. It was always less. Maybe we are all greater beings with greater strength than we allow ourselves to see.
4. I could probably go on, but I am being called to cut a cucumber for Sophie.
5. The only downside I saw was that love is not, in reality, as utterly intense as these books made it out to be, and young girls could be getting set up for disappointment when real life does not turn out to be the fantasy they read about.
