Nonrepresentational Abstract Art

Well, apparently I am feeling better. How can you tell? I have been painting!!!

Today I made this:

I haven't named it yet. Any suggestions?

I also painted this one today:

Title:
Wholly Yours

Now really this isn't anything. But it is based on a photograph of a sunset over a lake. Here is the original--just for comparison:

I am very, very happy today!!

Darling Adam! You owe me a phone call!

I started painting 3 or 4 years ago. I went to a "class" that was taught by a friend of mine. Everyone else was painting nice little landscapes and animals and happy little trees. I looked at a blank canvas and covered it with color. That first one is quite stark. I am developing a style of blended colors, and lately I have been experimenting with color field forms--geometric shapes with really precise borders, no blending.

I remember when I painted nice little still life's and human forms, and flowers. It made me happy too. I'm glad you have this wonderful outlet, Dawney. Your pictures are lovely.
